The 2011 MTV Movie Awards took place in Los Angeles on Sunday hosted by SNL funny man Jason Sudeikis. The theme of the night was certainly obvious: ladies and gentlemen, the ‘80s are back!
The red carpet showcased such beauties as Emma Watson, Amber Lancaster, Leighton Meester, and Nina Dobrev who all rocked short, metallic, sequin-studded ‘80s dresses that indeed looked fabulous. Brooklyn Decker and Emma Stone followed suit in shimmery textured fabrics and busy prints. The majority of the ladies wore there hair down and wavy which gave their dramatic ‘80s fashion choices a bit more of a casual edge.
The make-up had a theme all its own. Flawless, natural skin with a bit of cheek color and bronzer. Soft, natural lips paired beautifully with the hair styling choices. And EYES, EYES, EYES! Mildly winged out classic black eyeliner, lashes galore, and deep, warm eye shadow colors to bring the entire look together.
My favorite look of the evening? Kristen Stewart, who also was nominated and won Best Female performance for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Her dress was fantastic. Its short, sexy style showed off her legs and was studded with metal safety pins and black sequins perfectly placed all over to convey total chaos on vibrantly red fabric. Her hair was wavy and full of volume as it fell delicately over her shoulders. Kristen's make-up was breathtaking. Her eyes were just stunning as she followed the make-up trend of the evening and stepped up those gorgeous eyes with liner, lashes, warm shadow tones and a smile that could turn any vampire into a mere mortal.
