At MUD, nothing takes our breath away like Autumn, with the leaves, the colors – and the fashion! Now you can add unexpected romance to your look this fall with the latest mosaic-inspired color trends of the season. Deep, jewel-toned teals, wine-tinged purples, rich chocolates and burnished mauve add drama and shimmer to a flattering neutral palette. Smoky, sexy, smudged eyes take an unpredictable turn in opulent shades of green, grape or coffee. Create a decadent pout with a lip color that combines chocolate and berry tones.
This color story has inspired our latest collection – the Fall Elements Collection. It’s exactly what you’ll need to create a strong eye, bold lip, and contoured look in colors that perfectly pair with your new fall wardrobe. For additional make-up looks, tips and more, please visit mudshop.com!
Look #1: Fall Daytime
• To create a subtle, yet polished look for day, start with the Rich Brown Eye Pencil and line the lash line. Finish with a slight upward wing on the outer corner of each eye. You can either apply by using the #210 Angle Liner Brush to pull product off of the pencil and onto the lid, or simply use the pencil itself – and be sure to sharpen it first for maximum precision.
• Next, use the #800 Crease Brush to apply Cashmere Eye Color to the crease, using small, back-and-forth movements to bring the color slowly downward toward the lash line. This color is ideal for use across the lid, which is why we love it with a simple, soft eyeliner.
• Add a few coats of Cream Mascara to lashes.
• For light to medium eyebrows, use the #210 Angle Liner Brush to fill in brows with a small amount of Taupe Eye Color. For darker brows, fill in with the Rich Brown Eye Pencil.
• When filling in eyebrows, we strongly suggest using the #210 Angle Liner Brush to pull product from the Eye Pencil. This creates a much more natural overall look.
• Finish the look with a swipe of Java Lip Glaze on the lips.
Look #2: Fall Evening
• To create a glamorous evening look, start by applying the Rich Brown Eye Pencil all over the entire eyelid as a cream base. This can be done by applying the pencil directly to the lid, or by using the #810 Smudger Brush to pull product from the pencil.
• Use the Rich Brown Eye Pencil along the lower lash line as well.
• Once the base color has been evenly distributed across the entire lid, use the #330 Shadow Fluff Brush to apply Concord Eye Color directly in the crease of the lid, using small, back-and-forth strokes. Be sure to switch back and forth between eyes.
• After the crease has been clearly marked with Concord Eye Color, use the #800 Crease Brush to blend out that crease, blending downward toward the lash line and inward when working on the outer corner. This will control your shadow placement.
• Repeat the last step one or two more times, dipping your brush into Concord Eye Color and blending from the crease downward, until you are satisfied with the color placement and intensity.
• For a pop of autumn color, use the #800 Crease Brush to apply Tea Tree Eye Color lightly all over the lid with a tapping or dabbing motion. Once you have created some intensity with this color on the lid, bring the Tea Tree Eye Color upward into the crease to connect these two shades.
• Switching to the #210 Angle Liner Brush, apply Tea Tree Eye Color to the lower lash line, directly over the Rich Brown Eye Pencil that you applied earlier. Then, use the #810 Smudger Brush to smudge out that drop shadow by blending it back and forth into the lash line until soft and diffused.
• To highlight the brow bone, apply a small amount of Cashmere Eye Color.
• Using the #210 Angle Liner Brush, pull product from the Rich Brown Eye Pencil and fill in brows where needed.
• Finish this glamorous autumn evening look with a few generous coats of Volumizing Mascara and a touch of Java Lip Glaze.
