We hope you’ve followed along as recent MUD Graduate Carole Soueidan (the key hair and make-up artist for the band Jessie and the Toy Boys) shared with us her experiences while on tour (see Part 1 and Part 2 here). Now, Carole reflects on her adventures as we follow her for the third and final installment of her experience on the Femme Fatale Tour.

Like all good things, the Femme Fatale Tour must too come to an end. The tour was an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget. It seems like it was all over and done with in the blink of an eye. Although it feels really good to be sleeping in my own bed and back to my everyday routine, I still can’t help but miss the excitement of this tour.

Touring is definitely a lifestyle that is not for everyone. You will either love it or hate it. But if you asked me if this is something that I would ever do again, my answer would be yes - in a heartbeat! Waking up in a different city every day, crazy excited crowds, tour bus bunk beds, catered food, making friends with Britney’s dancers, sharing dressing rooms with Nicky Minaj’s dancers, doing Jessie’s and the Toy Boys’ hair and makeup, stage lights, loud music, costumes and excitement are each part of the things that make this tour what it is.

It’s not all fun and games though. At times it seemed like a lot to handle. There were days when I was homesick for my family and friends. There was the lack of privacy that I had to learn to accept, and the locker room showers weren’t ever very fun. But I had to find a way to adapt, and in the end, I found that these things didn’t matter. It was all worth it.

I learned so much from this experience that I’ve come back a different person. I have grown, gained knowledge, and am now much more self-assured. I’ve been inspired by this journey and am ready to challenge myself to take bigger leaps forward. I love my profession and wouldn’t change it for the world.

Yes, I’ve gained confidence with this experience, but it has humbled me as well. I feel blessed to have had such an amazing opportunity, especially with MUD’s support. I feel very proud that I am a graduate of MUD, and with their sponsorship for this endeavor I felt that I could do no wrong.

Jessie and the Toy Boys and I thank MUD for your sponsorship, and I personally thank you for believing in me and for letting me share my experience through this blog. You had me well-stocked and prepared with all the makeup tools that I needed. You helped make my work shine and Jessie and the Toy Boys a success.
