At Make-Up Designory (MUD) each product we develop is subjected to rigorous testing before it earns our “MUD-Certified” stamp of approval. Our Lip Glazes are no exception. The process started about a year ago, with the idea of putting Lip Gloss in a tube. While our Lip Glosses are great for professionals, we wanted a product that offered foolproof application for the average woman. We also wanted a formula that was appropriate for women of all ages, since many over 40 usually prefer much less shimmer or gloss.
Our first challenge? Creating the perfect base formula. It had to be sheer and hydrating, but not sticky. After months of testing, we arrived at a product that left lips looking and feeling glossy, soft and naturally supple.
Then we had to decide which shades would complement the widest range of skin tones. Our focused team of experts, faculty and students started with a broad selection of colors and slowly narrowed it down. We considered factors like undertones and saturation, ultimately arriving at three gorgeous, sheer shades: Bare, Magnolia and Java. No matter what your skin tone, these choices add just the right amount of color and shine.
Our final challenge was finding the ultimate applicator. After conducting a comprehensive survey, we discovered that most women prefer an attached tip applicator. The soft-touch applicator that we selected distributes the product evenly across the lips without clumping or streaking. It’s part of what makes Lip Glazes the perfect choice for women on the go.
The Basics:
Light, emollient Lip Glazes deliver a burst of sheer, glossy color that’s smooth and never sticky. Stash the squeezable tube in a handbag for a quick sweep of color on the go, or use a brush for more precise application.
Quick Study:
• Layer over a MUD Lipstick for added shine and richness
• Use with a MUD Lip Pencil for more defined lips
• May be used alone for natural, luscious lips
Color Theory – Bare:
• A warm beige-pink color
• Use with Natural or Maple Lip Pencil for natural, glossy lips
• Layer over a darker Lipstick to lighten the tone
Color Theory – Magnolia:
• A light blush color with subtle flecks of gold
• Use alone for a soft, natural glow
• Layer over Rose Clay or Stargazer Lipstick to enhance the shade
Color Theory – Java:
• A deep, rich chocolate color with hints of berry
• Use with Vintage Eye Pencil for a bold, dramatic look
• Layer over Havana or Blackberry Lipstick for added intensity
Tool School:
• Use #310 Lip Brush for a flawless application

I introduced the MUD line to a salon in Durham, NC. It has been a hit for many of he clients. They really love the foundation and the eyeshadows. Majority of our clients there are women of color with the majority being African American. We had to them to leave comments about the new line. As I stated before, they really like the foundation and eyeshadow. They raved about the new packaging for the mascara, the deemed it genius! They suggested that the line could carry a wider variety of lip colors, deeper lip liner shades that would make the lips pop. although they love the texture of the lip glaze many prefer the lipgloss with the wand attached to the top of the gloss container. Many also stated a wider variety of color and more pigment would be good. These women rage from the age of 35-60. They are huge fashion fair and MAC cosmetic wearers. one client suggested the lipgloss and lipglaze should be packaged like the mascara with a lip wand attached would be awesome. It is designed so that you could get all the product out.
I just wanted to share these suggestions , for I am so proud of the line and to be a graduate from Makeup Designory.
