Have you ever wondered how the Telenovela actors from Latin American soap operas get that perfect flawless base application paired with dramatic eyes? We’ve had several requests to recreate the look of sexy Latina stars over the months, so I thought I would share some quick and easy tips for achieving this dramatic yet wearable look.

Face: To sheer out the foundation, I mixed our Cream Foundation in YG 1 and our Face Primer on the Stainless Steel Palette and evenly applied on the entire face with #940 Foundation Brush. In areas that needed more coverage, I used a tapping motion or stippled the foundation. To set the make-up, I used the #720 Powder Brush to apply the Buttercream Loose Powder.

Eyes: I began by applying Rich Brown Eye Pencil with the #210 Angle Liner Brush. For dramatic eyes, I really wanted to play up the highlights and shadows. Under the eyebrow, I used our Bone Eye Color as a highlight and applied with #320 Oval Shadow Brush. Next, I used a blend of Pixie and Apricot Eye Colors on the entire lid – Pixie catches and reflects light while the Apricot softens the color. To control my placement in the crease, I chose the #810 Smudger Brush with the Sienna Eye Color. I gradually built the color in the crease from the outer corner to the inner corner in a back and forth motion to create a soft edge, making sure to keep the eye lifted and not exceeding the outer corners of the eye. I blended the color with the #800 Crease Brush. For more drama, I added Onyx Eye Color with the #350 Shadow Blender Brush in the contour, blending into the Sienna with the #800 Crease Brush. For the eyeliner, I loaded the #210 Angle Liner Brush with the Black Eye Pencil to create a fabulous fashion eyeliner, making sure to connect the liner in the outer corners of the eyes. Finally, I filled in the water line with the Black Eye Pencil and finished with a coat of the Volumizing Mascara.

Cheeks: For the cheeks, I lightly applied Sunshine Bronzer to the cheekbones with the #510 Duster Brush. Sunshine has an olive undertone with iridescent pigments and works beautifully as an overall glow around the perimeter of the face, or as a contour and cheek color.

Lips: I wanted the lips to pop without adding a lot of color, so I chose the Shine Lip Gloss and applied with the #310 Lip Brush, starting at the outer corners and dragging towards the center.
