The Admissions departments at both Los Angeles and New York Make-Up Designory campuses have been very busy enrolling for 2011 programs. We are currently enrolling for dates starting in March!

If you are interested in attending classes at MUD, the first step is to contact the Admissions department to discuss our programs and possibly set up an appointment to visit the school. If a visit is not possible, the Admissions Advisor will discuss the details via e-mail or phone. We are always thrilled to see students arrive from different states as well as other countries. We also provide an M-1 visa for our international students.

Please do not hesitate to contact us and take the next step in becoming a make-up artist!

Hi Angelo!

Yes, we have two individual courses you can take: Special Make-Up Effects 201 and Special Make-Up Effects 301. The courses are each 6 weeks long. The cost depends on which campus you attend.

Please feel free to visit http://mud.edu and download the catalog for the campus you are interested in. There will also be more information about the classes in the catalog (dates, etc.), as well as enrollment information for international students.

Hello. I am interested in applying for the march master makeup artist courses. I was wondering if the NY school helps students out with loans. If not, is there any financial help at all?

Make-Up Designory January 27, 2011 at 4:05 pm

Hi Jeimy,

Yes, the Master Make-Up Artistry Program is eligible for financial aid. Once you begin your enrollment process you can work with a financial aid advisor and the first step would be filling out the 2010/2011 FAFSA online at FAFSA.ed.gov to find out what you qualify for. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact our Financial Aid department at 212-925-9250 ext. 2204.

Ally February 9, 2011 at 9:26 pm

Hello,

You mentioned that the Master Makeup Course is eligible for financial aid, but are there other programs that qualify as well? I fully intend to enroll within the next year at some point, but I’m pretty broke, so financial aid/funding is a huge concern for me.

I have been doing makeup since I was a little girl, and this is truly my passion. I’ve worked with MAC for the last few years, but I feel that it is time to take a bigger step in the direction of my dreams. I’ve been told, and have read, that your school is one of the best, most reputable schools in the industry, and I can’t wait to find out why. smile

Make-Up Designory February 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Hi Ally!

Yes, there are other programs that are eligible for financial aid. In addition to the Master program, Film and Television and Multimedia are also eligible. The only program that is not eligible is our Fashion program.

We understand that financial aid/funding is important. You are more than welcome to speak to our Financial Aid advisors if you have any other concerns. For LA, you can contact Desiree Wilde (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) and for NY contact Maggie Smith (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)). Once you start enrollment, they will also be able to help you through the process of funding your education. Whatever financial aid doesn’t cover, there are other options such as loans to cover the rest. We also accept outside scholarships and apply them towards your tuition if you are able to research and apply for them on your own.

Thanks for your interest and good luck!

Laurissa Rodriguez February 24, 2011 at 1:34 pm

Hi my name is Laurissa Rodriguez, i am currently a Senior at Santa Fe high school. I would love to come to this school to study Makeup, But i have a few questions.
I am currently signing up for FASFA financial aid and i was wondering if this school accepts that? and also as a senior when can i start signing up, i wont be 18 till October 17 but i would like to know if i can sign up earlier and wait till i am 18 beacuse i know you have to be 18 to start.
(:

Make-Up Designory February 24, 2011 at 1:42 pm

Hi Laurissa,

Yes, three of our programs are eligible for financial aid – Film & Television, Multimedia and Masters. If you apply to one of these then you are already one step ahead of everyone by having your FAFSA complete!

You can definitely try to apply before you are 18. We always recommend that you try to enroll as soon as possible because classes fill up pretty fast. Also, you can start class before you’re 18 if you have parental consent and proof of high school graduation or GED.

Thanks for your questions. Good luck!

Karen February 27, 2011 at 10:11 pm

Hi my name is Karen, And I graduated from Capri Cosmetology Institute. When i attended school, I was under the impression that I would get more informative information and also more hands on training and it turned out being that what they teached was more on how to recieve your cosmotology license basics for the state board.
I would like to inquire with your school if you provide an equal amount of education meaning, you teach 100% informative and 100% hands on training.

Make-Up Designory March 2, 2011 at 12:04 pm

Hi Karen,

We’re sorry to hear that the former training you received did not live up to your expectations.

At MUD, you will definitely receive the kind of training you’re looking for – 100% informative and 100% hands-on. Our curriculum provides students with practical, real-world skills in a format designed to maximize the learning process. There’s lecture and demonstration and there’s hands-on practice in every class.

If you’re interested in hearing it from a student’s perspective, you’re more than welcome to check out one of our students’ blogs: http://mudbloginn.blogspot.com. It gives you a real idea of what students learn in class.

Please feel free to download our catalog from http://mud.edu. If you have any further questions you can always e-mail or call us. For LA, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call 818-729-9420 or for NY, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call 212-925-9250.

Thanks for your interest, Karen. Good luck!

Marisela March 23, 2011 at 11:16 am

So I was reading in one of your blogs and wanted to make sure that you said financial aid is not available for fashion make up artistry? Is there any other way to get financial aid for that program?

Make-Up Designory March 24, 2011 at 4:52 pm

Hi Marisela,

This is true, only our Film & Television, Multimedia and Master Make-up Artistry Programs are eligible for financial aid. There isn’t any other way to get U.S. federal financial aid but there are always the options of loans and outside scholarships that you could try applying for.

You may also want to consider the Multimedia Program. If you have the time, it is one class longer than the Fashion Program.

You are always more than welcome to speak to a Financial Aid Advisor anytime. For LA, you can contact Desiree Wilde (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) and for NY contact Maggie Smith (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)).

Thanks for your interest and good luck!

I work full time and I would love to attend your school but I am only free on weekdays from 8:00am -2:00pm.  Would your school work around my schedule or is it not possible.  I can not take the evening courses since I work in the evening time and I am off on tue, wed, thur so those days would not be an issue

Joei smigelsky April 12, 2012 at 3:17 am

I was just wondering if MUD offered evening classes and what time do they begin.

Thanks!

Kim Gomez May 14, 2012 at 8:56 am

I was just wondering if you take one individual course. can you graduate with just taking that one course?
