The trademark of Middle Eastern make-up is an emphasis on gorgeous, striking eyes. In this tutorial, I will show you how to create an exotic eye make-up look from the Middle East using beautiful ruby and gold tones.

Get this look:

Eyebrows: Using the #210 Angle Liner Brush, apply Onyx Eye Color directly to the hairs of the eyebrow, just to color them slightly darker, adding a nice definition to the brow framing the eye. Place a powder puff between the face and your hand to protect the make-up.

Eyes: Using the #350 Shadow Blender Brush, apply Honeysuckle Eye Color directly under the brow for a nice golden highlight in a sweeping motion. Make sure you balance both sides. Using the same brush, apply Sunset Eye Color directly to the bottom contour of the top of the eyelid in a stippling motion. Move all the way to the lash line. Turn the brush upside down so you can get as close as possible to the lash line, then repeat the process on the other eye. Using the same #350 Brush, apply Bronzed Eye Color to the outside edge of the eyelid to create a little more contrast. It is a very subtle change, but creates more dimension.

To create a soft edge on the eye, use the #800 Crease Brush and apply Pink Illusion Eye Color to the top contour of the eye from the outer corner, sweeping inwards toward the nose. The #800 Brush is great for this application because it fits into the contour of the eye and blends as you apply. With a sweeping motion, bring it down to the lash line to frame the eye a little better, finally sweeping it up toward the outer brow. You should have a nice rose and gold effect on the eye.

With the #810 Smudger Brush, apply Pomegranate Eye Color to the top contour of the lid to create more depth in the crease. The #810 Brush is more compact and will allow for a denser application for the desired effect. Apply in a sweeping motion, keeping soft edges, up toward the outer brow.

For the eyeliner, use Black Eye Pencil. Blend into the lash line, going across the lashes into the inner corner, and make sure you apply a nice, strong line. Continue to the bottom lashes, sweeping the end up slightly on the outer edge. Again, make sure you have applied a nice strong line. Next, smudge out the eyeliner with the #210 Brush. I prefer the eye slightly on the smoky side, so drag the brush away from the eye to create a little bit of a softer edge on the bottom. Blend in a sweeping motion slightly up the outer contour of the eye to create a little extra lift. To add a little more of a smoky quality to the eye, apply Onyx Eye Color to the water line of the eye. Before applying to the eye, blend a little of it on a tissue so it doesn’t fall. Apply, pulling the eyelid away slightly.

For a little extra drama, add false lashes.

To avoid cross-contamination, use a Disposable Mascara Wand with the Volumizing Mascara. Apply only to the natural lashes, the false lashes don’t really need the Mascara.

Lips: Line the lips with Maple Lip Pencil, and follow with Iced Latte Lip Gloss. Stay right on the natural lip line, making sure to balance the top cupid’s bow. Apply the Iced Latte with the #310 Lip Brush.

Cheeks: For a nice cheek color that matches well with the colors on the eyes and lips, I like to use Glow Cheek Color. Apply, using the #510 Duster Brush. I like this brush because it has a light touch for more control. Make sure to apply to the apples of the cheek. Apply a little bit of Gingerbread Cheek Color to the cheek to create more of a contour. Remember to blend as you apply so that you don’t get too much of a striped effect. Repeat on the other side.
