MUD and Bellus Academy

Lynelle Lynch, the President and Owner of Bellus Academy, is an accomplished visionary and entrepreneur. She has taken Beauty and Spa to a higher level with advanced education in esthetics and cosmetology. The Bellus team is the only academy nationwide that has an Artistic Director (Diego Raviglione) and a Spa/Wellness Director (Joanne Berry). Together they’re responsible for the advanced courses that go beyond basic state board training.

Lynelle took an innovated approach to make-up education when she realized that esthetics and cosmetology programs only cover one day of make-up application. In search of advanced training in make-up, Lynelle came across Make-Up Designory. Lynelle contacted Tate Holland, the CEO of MUD, over four years ago and Bellus Academy has been our partner in education ever since! We designed a custom four-week course in make-up using MUD cosmetics for the original Bellus campus in San Diego.

In 2011, America Academy in Manhattan, Kansas, became part of the Bellus Academy family. America Academy founder David Yocum, Lynette, and their highly effective team are in the process of bringing the advanced training and programs already established at the San Diego campus over to the new campus in Manhattan. On April 20th and 21st, I had the opportunity to visit the Manhattan campus and introduce MUD to the welcoming staff, eager students, and salon/spa owners supporting this new, innovative educational program.

Also, with the acceptance of the advanced training and education from the salon/spa owners that attend the Advisory Board Meeting, it opens up a path for the upcoming steps of accreditation, which must be approved through the state.

During the trip, I met a lot of amazing people and I wish Bellus Academy the best! I know they will succeed in all of their endeavors. Thank you, Bellus family, for making MUD a part of this experience. And a special thanks to Lynelle and David, who have both inspired me in so many ways.
