MUD Sponsors Halloween Make-up Event with Pasadena Youth Program

On October 12th and 19th MUD Cares was proud to sponsor two Halloween make-up labs with DayOne, Pasadena’s community youth program. MUD instructor Gil Romero and staff members Yvonne Hawker and Amanda Brass helped to coordinate the sponsorship on the MUD side; grads Rachel Wooters and Synda Salazar led the instruction of the labs.

While demonstrating how to make different characters, Rachel and Synda spoke about the importance of their education at MUD and what it meant to them. Synda focused on creating several Dia de los Muertos looks, while Rachel focused on gore, including bruises, blood and cuts. The main goal of the classes was to inspire.

"It took me a long time to finally take the step to go to MUD and accomplish this dream.” Rachel says, “ I want to help encourage others in reaching their goals."

MUD has been a long-term goal for Synda as well – “Anything is possible in this world so reach for the stars and take the plunge!"
