Natural beauty make-up is one of the most commonly requested looks we get as professional make-up artists. In this five-part series, I am going to show you how to recreate that seamless natural beauty of your favorite celeb – right at home.
Before you begin any make-up application, it is important to analyze and properly prime the skin and color correct any unwanted blue or red areas. This can be done in two basic steps:
Step 1: Analyze and Prime the Skin
Apply a light application of MUD Face Primer with the #940 Foundation Brush, starting at the top of the forehead and working down with long strokes.
Step 2: Color Correct
Unwanted blue color under and around the eye area can be concealed using the Blue Corrector from the Corrector Palette applied with a smaller, more precise brush such as the #930 Corrector Brush. Redness in the face can be neutralized using the Red Corrector applied with a larger brush such as the #340 Large Oval Brush. Correctors may also be mixed with the Face Primer on a Stainless Steel Palette to thin out the consistency when applying to a larger area. Using long strokes, start at the top of the forehead and work down when correcting red color throughout the face – applying a thin, even layer of Corrector will minimize the amount of Cream Foundation needed later on.
