In Part 1 of the series, I showed you how to create a simple, natural look for daytime using a warm and cool Eye Color palette for MUD’s Spring Into Beauty Collection. Now we’re going to play up the cool tones like the Pacific Eye Color for an evening look.
The following products used in this tutorial are part of our Spring Into Beauty Collection, available for a special price of $49.95 ($94.50 retail value) through April 30, 2011:
4-Hole Eye Color Palette filled with Honeysuckle, Canyon, Daisy, and Pacific Eye Colors
Gingerbread Cheek Color
Cantaloupe Lip Glaze
Cosmetic Bag
I also used brushes from our Travel Brush Kit to complete the look.
Get This Look:
Eyes: For a beautiful smoky eye, use the #810 Smudger Brush with Pacific Eye Color. Load your brush, start at the outer corner and follow the lash line to the inner corner of the eye. Brush forward and into the crease as you move towards the center of the eye and inner corner of the eye. Once you have the top lid completely covered by the Pacific, start at the outer corner again and drag the brush on the lower lid and connect with the inner corner.
Tip: To blend hard edges, use the #800S Crease Brush without any product. Hold the eyebrow taut and blend upward and into the crease to soften the edge. You can also use a sponge as an eraser to blend in your hard edges.
Use the #800S Brush with the Canyon Eye Color to reinforce the crease. Apply into the crease and blend upward into the highlight. This will create more warmth, complement the Pacific Eye Color and also soften the edges. Go over it lightly with the #810 Brush.
To intensify the color and make it pop, dip the #330S Shadow Fluff Brush into water, then into the Pacific and apply. Hug the lash line and follow it up into the crease. Use a stippling motion, working back and forth without rubbing. Using the same #330S Brush and again intensifying the color with some water, apply Daisy Eye Color into the inner corner of the eyes.
Don’t forget to apply another coat of Volumizing Mascara after your last application of eye shadow; coat the top as well as the lower lashes.
Cheeks: Use the #710S Powder Blush Brush and Gingerbread Cheek Color to enhance the cheekbones. For an evening look, you can go a little darker with the color.
Lips: Define the lips with Natural Lip Pencil. Start at the outer corners and bring it across to the center. Connect at the outer corners and drop it down to define the bottom lip. Load both sides of the #310S Lip Brush with Cantaloupe Lip Glaze. Start at the outer corners again and move towards the center of the lip following the natural line of the lip.
