Choosing a lip color that’s right for you may seem a bit overwhelming at first. There are so many options and such a wide range of colors out there to choose from that it sometimes seems easier to just play it safe with a clear gloss. Learning how and when to wear these shades will change the way you see yourself in them. Because the range of possibilities is so enormous, here is a simple guide to help you pick the perfect color. Finding this will help to complete your overall look and individualize your makeup.
Lighter Skin (Ivory, Nude, Porcelain)
Reds: Choose a red wine shade on the warmer side. Corals are also good. I suggest Eggplant Sheer Lipstick for a warm rich tint. On the lighter side, try our Magnolia Lip Glaze.
Browns: Choose a smooth caramel tone like Mudslide Sheer Lipstick for everyday use.
Medium Skin (Medium-Beige, Sand)
Reds: Choose warmer shades of deep red and rust tones like Stargazer Sheer Lipstick or Blackberry Satin Lipstick.
Browns: Choose brown tones with a slightly yellow pigment and/or undertone. My suggestion for this would be our Henna Lip Gloss for a beautiful earthy glow.
Darker Skin (Olive, Deep Dark, Deep Tan)
Reds: Choose a vibrant bluish red like Lady Bug Satin Lipstick. This is the perfect red for this skin tone.
Browns: Choose deep caramels, deep plums & mahogany. I suggest trying our Mai Tai Sheer Lipstick. For a lighter touch, try our fabulous Java Lip Glaze.
