Holiday Make-up Tutorial: New Year’s Party Glam

Last weekend at our free monthly workshops in LA and NY, we learned professional tricks and tips for the perfect New Year’s Eve smoky eye!

To prepare for this look, begin with a clean, toned, moisturized face. Prime the skin with Face Primer. Next, apply MUD’s Cream Foundation for a sheer natural look with flawless coverage. Set the foundation with an ultra light Loose Powder for an ultra smooth finish.

Get This Look: New Year’s Party Glam

Eyes: To create this look, we used the Beloved Kit, which contains 4 Eye Colors that are highly pigmented and can be used from a light application to a dramatic one. Tip: Wet and load the brush with the Eye Color for more intensity. The Honeysuckle Eye Color is the perfect sparkling highlight for this New Year’s celebration. Place the Honeysuckle Eye Color on the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye with #330S Shadow Fluff Brush. Wipe off any excess color on a tissue. Next, stipple or tap the Graphite Eye Color onto the entire lid with #330S Shadow Fluff Brush. Begin in the inner corner of the lid and work your way to the outer corner. To prevent droopy eyes, do not exceed the outer corners. Next, load up the #810 Smudger Brush with the Graphite Eye Color for a smoky eye effect on the lower lid. Connect the outer corner and follow the lower lash line to the tear duct. With the same brush, use a back and forth motion to fade or blend the color downward. Use a light application of the Sienna Eye Color with #800S Crease Brush to soften the hard edge on the top lid. Tip: Try using small circular motions when blending colors together. To define the eye, use the Black Eye Pencil to line the top and lower lash lines. If you prefer softer edges, use #810 Smudger Brush to smudge the liner. The Black Eye Pencil also works well in the top and lower water line. Apply a generous amount of the Black Volumizing Mascara to complete the eye treatment. For unruly hairs in the eyebrows, use the Brow Fix for a more polished look.

Cheeks: Dust the Glow Cheek Color in the center of the cheekbone with #710S Powder Blush Brush to add warmth and dimension to the entire face.

Lips: Lightly apply the deep warm brown Havana Satin Lipstick to the top and lower lip
