Updates to Veterans’ Benefits

As I have noted in my previous story about Veteran’s Benefits, Make-Up Designory is approved for benefits but the rules are different for a vocational school than for a college or university.

Whether you were an active duty service member or are the dependent of a service member, you may have the opportunity to receive Department of Veterans’ Benefits for your attendance at MUD. The larger programs at our schools are approved for DVA Benefits. For those who served prior to Afghanistan and Iraq, these benefits do not meet the tuition but do serve as a monthly allotment.

Those of you who are active, and qualify for the Post 9/11 GI Bill, must check with your base or post education office. Because Make-Up Designory is a non-Degree offering program, the DVA has determined that we do not qualify as a tuition-paid provider under this Act. That means that you would still qualify for the monthly allotment, but not to have your tuition paid. You need to speak with your base or post Education Office for specific clarification.

Benefits are determined by the DVA based on time of service, rank, and other considerations. Information about your service, or your family member's service, can be received at 1-800-GIBILL1 or http://www.gibill.va.gov.

The rules for California and New York are slightly different based on State regulations as well as Department of Veterans Affairs. Please feel free to contact our Admissions Advisors at our Los Angeles and New York campuses and ask all the questions you have. To learn more about our programs that are eligible for veterans’ benefits, you may request a free Los Angeles or New York catalog.

As always, feel free contact me at any time with additional questions.
